THE ROYCROFT GOODIE BOX - This years drawing will be held at the |
| BRIEF HISTORY: Elbert Hubbard’s early attempts to develop personal connections with and entice customers began while he was a salesperson for the Larkin Company. The “Goodie Box” was a comparable promotional sales strategy to the Larkin Company’s “$10 Combination Box” and was offered as a premium to customers. Even the slogan used to advertise it, “From Farm to Family”, echoes the Larkin Company’s “Factory to Family” motto. The Roycrofters’ “Goodie Box”, a wooden trunk filled with sausage, nuts, honey, home-made pecan patties and other wholesome foodstuffs from the Roycroft farms, was originally made of gumwood and copper and measured 9 ½ x 23 x 12 ½ inches. |
RALA GOODIE BOX: For the past 10 years RALA has filled its "GOODIE BOX" with donations from the Roycroft Renaissance Artisans. Details of this years box will be coming soon. The value of previous years boxes and the Artisan donated handcrafted items has exceeded $5000. Raffle tickets can be purchased from RALA or downloaded from this site by clicking here. |
