The
Roycroft Renaissance is blossoming in East Aurora and throughout the
country. The fourteen building (nine public) Roycroft Campus has been a
National Historic Landmark since 1986. The Roycroft Inn is reopened after
a multi-million dollar restoration by the Margaret L. Wendt Foundation.
The Roycroft Inn and Shops as they were
historically known are famous once again. "Not as Hubbard did it then
but as he would do it now" has been the motto of the new era. The
Roycroft has been featured in the New York Times, Architectural
Digest, Old House Interiors, and many other national publications. In
addition, there have been major museum exhibitions traveling the country
bringing recognition and education about this place that Hubbard referred
to as "a state of mind."
